“There are as many vows to be spoken and written as there are lovers who love.”
Vows are an important part of the wedding ceremony as they contain promises to each other and they form part of the legal statement of the ceremony. I can provide you with samples to choose from and I am happy to change these to suit your preferences. Alternatively you can write your own personal vows.
There are a range of vows to choose from including:
- Traditional vows
- Jewish vows
- Buddhist vows
- Muslim vows
- Intercultural wedding vows
- Contemporary Romantic wedding vows
You can find detailed examples of marriage vows here (PDF 276KB).
Readings are an optional part of the ceremony but add interest and allows an opportunity for family and friends to get involved. A reading could be a poem, a prayer or an inspiring passage from a book.
